Stone Island: the new collection is online
Stone Island was founded in 1982 in Ravarino (Modena) thanks to Massimo Osti’s desire of experimentation, which brought him to develop new techniques and transform materials that were never used before in the clothing industry.
The very first collection stood out for its strong identity, expressed through touches of navy style as well as military elements: in fact, the name “Stone Island” itself was found in two English words that were coming up repeatedly in Joseph Conrad's novels. Moreover, the classic badge applied on left sleeve is embroidered with a windrose logo, reminding military uniforms.
Experimentation, research and innovation are the key elements standing behind Stone Island’s great success.
Since 1993, the brand belongs to Carlo Rivetti's "Sportswear Company", whose Colour Lab holds over 60.000 dyeing recipes.
Dyeing, printing, coating, spraying, corrosion, overdyeing and engraving are just some of the many treatments through which Stone Island garments are made unique.
The Spring/Summer 2018 colour trends include not only dark and deep shades, but also bright pastel colours such as lavender and light green.
Among the newest Stone Island online proposals we can find a particular jacket made of Pertex Quantum Y, a new generation technological performance fabric that pairs extreme lightness with high strength and durability.
The unique Y-shaped filaments guarantee a more stable construction of the material and an extremely fluid aspect as well.
DWR technology gives the fabric great water-repellent properties the garments are padded with a lightweight substrate in PrimaLoft®, providing exceptional insulation capacity.
